Greed and the vision

Greed I hear was the mother of the credit crunch in the USA.Kenya as it were doesn't fall short of this monster in its varied faces.Corruption which is the first cousin of greed is said to be too rampant to the extend that the opposite of it will be mistaken to be the real vice.For vision 2030 to succeed the layman says we should stop being greedy and work on a culture of equality rather than a policy of equality.Reduce the need /emhasiss on material acquisition as the ultimate goal in life.The snob consumer should be killed and all his resources directed to welfare oriented programs rather than self glorification.I am thinking of a situation where rich individuals will be encouraged to set up companies that distribute water for domestic use and not mineral water companies with huge profits but meaningless to the economy in the longrun.Corporations making exess profits in such an economy should be scrutinesed .Many would fight me on this but tell me how else safaricon would be making such huge profits if it is not charging its customers exorbitantly? The lessons of a capitolist economy cant be learned bettre than through the American example.there is nothing like democratic capitolism when we have all kinds of people out here..the oil prices saga will serve as a good examle in kenya and beyond.America was hit when it was believed to be strong on fandamentals what will happen to Africa and Kenya in perticular when we are hit?by all means we should minimise the use of credit.there is no need of strugling to acquire things we dont need through credit.A national culture on spending should be borne.I dont mean controls but we should preach a spending culture that is investment informed rather than total consumption.There are those who will be quick to call this sicialism but before you do understand the world was never given an opportunity to experiment socialism.Those preaching less government shold understand that thats where we came from so are we retreating or what.the concept of government came up because people thought it best to address their fears in life.......
